Your First Visit

Patient Forms

Upon entering our office, Tracy or Kayla will request that you complete our  patient forms located in the New Patient Center. This paperwork provides us with your health history and information on your condition.

Consultation

Next, you will have a consultation with Dr. Pasley to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, and potential treatment options. This initial visit is designed for Dr. Pasley to learn more about you, your condition, and  expectations to determine how chiropractic care can meet your goals.

Examination

After your consultation, Dr. Pasley will perform a complete chiropractic examination testing your reflexes and flexibility. Other standard neurological, orthopedic, postural, and physical tests will be performed as well. However, nothing  will be done in our office  without your consent.

X-Ray Studies

Depending on your specific condition, we may order X-rays or other imaging studies.  Imaging can help us develop  the most effective treatment plan for you, and alert us of  any serious spinal conditions. Most people are amazed once they see their images up close.

We primarily utilize the services of the Prattville Imaging Center located in the Baptist Hospital location on the corner of McQueen Smith Rd and Hwy 14 in Prattville.  The team of medical radiologists at Baptist will review whatever imaging studies are ordered by Dr. Pasley and issue a report.  Dr. Pasley will review the images as well and discuss your imaging results with you.

Dr. Pasley may refer you for laboratory studies if a rule out/rule in is needed for a specific condition relative to your chief complaint or just to make sure that something else isn't going on.  We use AEL Laboratories in Prattville, AL for lab studies.

Report of Findings

Once the information is collected  and examinations are performed, Dr. Pasley will give you a detailed report of all findings and answer any questions including:

  1. How can you help me?
  2. How often do I need to come in?
  3. What  will  my treatment  cost?

After reviewing your health history,  goals, and examining your spine and imaging, Dr. Pasley will discuss recommendations and notify you if  your condition  requires care with other providers.

Treatment

At the conclusion of this initial  appointment, you can choose to  experience your first treatment. This will usually include spinal adjustments and physiotherapeutics such as moist heat, ice,  electrical muscle stimulation, trigger point therapy and specialized stretching techniques.  Treatment is interactive, so  you can express concerns about the different treatments at any time.

For most musculoskeletal conditions the subsequent visits will include instructions on how to perform a regimen of stretching and exercises at home that are pertinent to your condition(s).  These instructional visits are placed strategically in your care plan for safety and tolerance.  Dr. Pasley wants his patients to get well as fast as possible, but everyone's pace or tolerance is not the same so we will accommodate your needs as best we can.

Wellness Program

Prior to leaving, the doctor may suggest a  wellness program  to incorporate outside of treatment.  If you are in pain when you first come into our office this may include: ice or heat application instructions, certain activities or positions to avoid, and at home exercises and/or stretches.  If you desire,  our wellness team will work with you also to create healthy habits and routines for your lifestyle.  Every person is unique, therefore everyone requires a  customized wellness plan.  The purpose  of our wellness program is for   you  to achieve good spinal alignment, have a  healthy diet, exercise, and maintain a positive mental state.
